Holy Rood Events


Community Curry Lunch - Sunday 18th June

Community Curry Lunch to celebrate the Malayalam community within our parish family at Holy Rood and the SVP’s links with the Kerala region in India that the community come from. Money raised will go towards the two SVP groups that our SVP in Holy Rood are twinned with; one in Kerala and the other in Sudan. Takeaway lunches are available after the 9.30am Mass and sit-down lunch in the Parish Centre after the 11am Mass. Suggested donation will be £5 per adult and £2 per child.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion - Saturday 1st July

The next one off training session will be on Saturday 1st July 9-10am. We need new ministers for all Sunday Masses but especially Sat eve at 6pm and Sun eve at 5pm. If you attend Mass weekly and are in good standing i.e free from impediment, please speak with the clergy. We are particularly keen to recruit those who are 18 – 35 though of course all are welcome to apply.

Holy Rood Parish Camp - Friday 25th August to Monday 28th August

Come for the weekend or visit for a day. Open to all parishioners, their families and friends. Come and make new friends. Great food! Further details please phone 07856 242487.

The Late Summer Fair - Saturday 16th September

From 12 noon to 4pm in the Parish Centre. Fresh ideas, help with planning and running the event would be greatly appreciated. This replaces the November Fair. If you are great at face painting, baking cakes, enjoy barbequeing, can run a stall or you simply want to support your parish church let us know. We hope to make use of the garden space with a bouncy castle and other activities.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham - Saturday 7th October

Come with us on Pilgrimage to England’s Nazareth and the National Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham. This year’s one-day Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham will take place on Saturday 7th October. We will be taking a coach… further details to follow.

Sunday Tea & Coffee

After the 11am Mass on Sundays in the Parish Centre, everyone is welcome. If you are new to our parish, please do come along to meet other parishioners.
